Saddened to see that Erica Wilson passed away today. She was a famous needlework designer, educator and entrepreneur who wrote many books and even hosted a television show. I grew up with grandmothers who were needlework crazy and although I had many items they would make for me, I only learned about Erica Wilson later when I started designing stationery. I would see her little squirrels, owls and plant life in all forms at flea markets and later realized from one of her books that all I had admired was her design! Here’s a taste of some of her work.
